GARDEN CLEARANCE

Garden, shed and outbuilding clearance

Overgrown gardens brought back under control, and the sheds, greenhouses and garden waste that come with them cleared and taken away.

An overgrown garden and old shed being cleared

What we clear

Green waste

Overgrowth, brambles, hedge cuttings, grass and leaf fall, all removed.

Sheds and greenhouses

Dismantled and taken away, including the contents and the base.

Garden rubbish

Old pots, broken furniture, rubble, fencing and general dumped items.

Access-friendly

Rear gardens with no vehicle access are carried out by hand.

From overgrown to usable again

Gardens get away from people for all sorts of reasons: a long illness, a house standing empty between owners, a rental left too long between tenancies, or simply a wet summer and a busy year. Whatever the cause, the result is the same, and the longer it is left the more daunting it looks.

We clear the lot. Brambles, nettles, self-seeded saplings, waist-high grass, hedge growth and everything that has been quietly dumped underneath it. Where a garden has not been touched for years the first pass is often just cutting back enough to see what is actually there, and then we work through it properly.

Because we quote fixed prices, a garden that turns out to contain more than expected under the overgrowth does not become more expensive halfway through. We would rather look at photographs first and quote honestly than surprise anyone on the day.

Sheds, outbuildings and what comes after

Old sheds and greenhouses are among the most common things we are asked to remove. Both are straightforward for us: we empty them, dismantle them and take away the panels, roofing felt, glass and frame. Concrete bases can usually be broken up and removed too, though that is worth mentioning when you get a quote so it is priced in.

Greenhouse glass and old corrugated roofing sheets both need care. Panes are wrapped rather than tipped loose into the van, and pre-1999 corrugated sheeting can be asbestos cement, which we will identify and leave for a licensed contractor rather than handling ourselves.

Everything green that we remove goes for composting rather than landfill, and timber, metal and rubble are separated at a licensed transfer station. If you are clearing a garden before a sale or a letting, tell us the date and we will work back from it.

Common questions

Do you need vehicle access to the garden?

It helps, but it is not essential. We regularly carry waste through a house or round a terrace by hand where there is no other route.

Can you take down an old shed?

Yes. We empty it, dismantle it and remove the whole structure, and can lift the base as well if you want it gone.

What happens to the green waste?

It goes for composting at a licensed facility, not to landfill. Timber, metal and rubble are separated out for recycling.

Do you do ongoing garden maintenance?

No, we are a clearance service rather than a gardening one. We get a garden back under control and hand it over from there.
